In the next four weeks I’m going to write about anything that surprizes or amazes me about food in Europe. I will tell you the tales of the world behind fruit and vegetables. I’m sure there are many different versions of these tales, and I’m going to try to get as many of these tales across as possible.
And what about the official versions of these tales? Are these just stories employees of supermarkets try to learn by heart to please the costumer or do the managers of supermarkets care about the environment? Or maybe they don’t, and they just don’t mind that people know that. Maybe they figure that as long as their prices are low, costumers will keep coming.
I’m not only going to tell you the official versions. I will also try to find out what local people think of organic food. Do they know the differences between organic fruit and vegetables and ‘normal’ ones? Why do they care about buying it? Maybe for their health, or for the planet? For something we don’t know anything about yet?
I’m incredibly excited to find the answers to these questions. Almost as excited as I am to tell you all about it! But for now, I’m just going to enjoy my glass of juice in the beautiful French sun.
