Paradise on earth

We arrived in Järna, a place I had never heard of before. Which is weird, because it’s much like a paradise to anyone who loves eating organic food. It’s a small village where lots of people grown their own vegetables, are considerate of the environment and where youth from all over the world comes together to learn about social entrepreneurship at YIP (Youth Initiative Program).
There’s also a project going on here, called the 2000m2 project. One person needs, on average, 2000m2 to grow all his food and stay alive. So that’s what someone is doing here. Someone is using 2000m2 to grow all the food needed, and to live on. And it really works!
Järna is not like any other place I have seen before. It’s a place full of inspiration and ideas. A place full of idealistic youth that created the world they want in a miniature version right here. Maybe to show the rest of the world that it’s possible, but maybe, or even mostly, just because they love it. It’s a place that’s so unrealistically beautiful and perfect that I can’t believe that I’m not dreaming. It’s a place that I really don’t want to leave, and luckily we don’t have to in the coming few days.
And now I'm going to eat an organic hamburger from a cow that still walked around in this village 20 hours ago. Meanwhile you can read my Dutch blog on duurzamestudent.nl: http://www.duurzamestudent.nl/detail/posts/12080/bio-in-itali-en-duitsland . :)

Yes, it's about 1,5 hours away from Stockholm by public transport. If you want to go there, there's this website that tells you which train to take: www.resrobot.se. When you're in Järna, ask for a place called the 'Cultural Centre' or YIP. Most people will know it and will give you the directions, you'll probably be able to hitchhike there.
When you get there you can ask people for interesting things to see, everyone is really open and will tell you everything you need to know. Also, if you would like to hear some more you can always email me: lisaboerop@ hotmail.com. Have fun in Sweden!:)
